Where to find Woof Camp 2014

Woof Camp 2014, the seventh annual pup and Handler party held at International Mr. Leather in Chicago, IL, will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 9pm-Midnight at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile in the Avenue Ballroom located on the Fourth Floor directly across from the elevators with the entrance through the State Room. Look for the Woof Camp and sponsored by SquarePeg Toys banners outside the room (see map). Representing the pup and Handler community, this event promises to be a fun, playful party at IML. Pups/dogs/wolves are encouraged to bring along their own water bowls, chew or squeaky toys, Handlers or Trainers for a howling good time! We are proud to have SquarePeg Toys, the original silicone puppy tail maker, once again be the sole sponsor for the event.

Due to the size/space limitation of the ballroom again this year, Woof Camp will NOT have an "Open to the General Public" session. Entry to the private sessions will only be available for those who present a ticket. Free tickets are available on Brown Paper Tickets. Please register for only one session so that everyone has a chance to experience Woof Camp at IML.

9:00pm - Midnight (Two 90-minute Sessions)

Session A 9:00pm-10:30pm
Session B 10:30pm-Midnight

Pups/Dogs/Wolves and Handlers/Trainers Only

These two sessions are just for pups/dogs/wolves (owned, strays or newbies) and Handlers/Trainers to use for training or to play with other pups/dogs/wolves. During the two sessions Avenue Ballroom will be the Active Area for romping around with other pups. The State Room will be the Quiet Area for new pups, pups intimated by more aggressive pup play, and for those who just want to rest or nuzzle with each other or their Handler/Trainer. Both sessions will also feature a free commemorative pin and wristband with ticket entry (while supplies last).

For those pups/dogs/wolves who identify as a newbie or stray and would like the Handlers/Trainers to engage with them, necktie bandanas will be provided to help Handlers/Trainers identify them.

Access to the private session will be restricted by security volunteers at the door, who will be taking tickets for admittance. Be prepared, as all pups/dogs/wolves are expected to be active participants and in pupspace (such as being on all fours throughout the session). People who sneak past the dog-sniffers at the door and try to crash the party as non-participants (on either end of the leash), will be asked to leave by the security volunteer staff.

Photography and videography will be allowed during the private sessions by attendees as well as several designated Woof Camp photographers. There will be notices posted outside the event doors as well as along the inside ballroom walls reminding people of that.

Please remember that Woof Camp is a male energy event, but all genders/orientation are welcome. We would ask both pups/dogs/wolves and Handlers/Trainers of all genders/orientation to respect the others' preferences and signals (a growl or head turned to the side/looking away is usually a good sign to ease off or not interested).
